A Gift From The Heavens
Beverley was a gift from the heavens during my Dad's illness and departure from this world. She was of immense comfort to him. Her gentle spirit and kind heart endeared her to my Dad and to all of our family at a time when we didn't even know we needed someone outside of our close knit family to buttress our strength and offer comfort. Her delightful sense of humour, love of music and intuitive ability to just know what to do to provide comfort and ease during that totally devastating time, were among the qualities that made her invaluable to my Dad, family and myself.
As I reflect back on the whole experience of my Dad's cancer and end of life journey, I realize the impact of her presence upon us all. She made the unbearable bearable in both subtle and overt ways. She guided us as to what we could expect next. Her wisdom and generosity brought a beautiful energy to that sad time. She seemed to suddenly appear when we needed her most but were too sleep deprived or entrenched in our profound sadness to even know we needed help. Beverley is a warm, understanding and caring person who always finds the right words, tone and feasible next step in situations that are emotionally and mentally challenging.
I experienced Beverley's capabilities after my brother passed away. The level of service was exceptional. Beverley was just a call away at any time of day, helped me cope with my grieving process, the emotions involved and encouraged me exactly the way I needed. I felt very safe with Beverley and appreciated that silence was just as welcome as words. For that and her superb support, I will be forever grateful.
Being a Death Doula is Beverley's calling! I cannot imagine anyone more suited to support everyone involved as a loved one leaves this world. Beverley engages wholeheartedly with an open ear, heart and clear mind that is sometimes needed. With her immense facilitation and coaching skills, Beverley ensures that last wishes are attended to.
