End of Life Doula
providing practical & emotional support to those courageously saying goodbye to health, life or a loved one
If you’ve ever wondered what an End-of-Life Doula does, I invite you to explore the rest of my website.
Hello, I’m Beverley Shiels, a Registered End-of-Life Doula (REOLD) with the End of Life Doula Association of Canada. Based in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, I serve clients throughout the Edmonton region, and it’s my honor to be invited to walk alongside individuals and their families as they face their final chapter.
I offer practical and emotional support to those living with a terminal diagnosis or seeking to plan for the end of life. My services are personalized and family-centered, ensuring that my clients feel seen, heard, supported, and never alone.
What sets my Doula approach apart is the relationship built—a bond rooted in trust, respect, and authenticity. My role complements, but does not replace, medical, clinical, or spiritual care. Families find comfort in having a Doula like myself as their consistent companion and advocate, especially during the active dying process when other professionals may be required to focus elsewhere.
Nelson Mandela once said, "Courage is not the absence of fear; it's inspiring others to move beyond it." This quote embodies my mission: to inspire courage and provide comfort during life’s challenging transitions.
